Museum History & Mission Founded in 2009 by Glenda R. Taylor and Mary J. Taylor, the Glenda R. Taylor museum for the preservation of African American Women’s History & Culture, provides an inclusive perspective of American history. The museum exhibits allow the public to discover the enormous contribution African American women have made to our nation. First published online on August 28, 2016, the museum is the first museum dedicated to the preservation of African American Women’s History & Culture. The mission of the museum is to use 21 st century technology to provide access to educational exhibits and data which document the history and culture of African American women.
